Sunil Manohar Gavaskar, is an Indian cricket commentator and former cricketer representing India and Bombay from the early 1970s to the late 1980s.
Form now to the 50 years ago the one name Sunil Gavaskar a young boy played his first match at the age of 19 on 6 March in 1971 .

First test match win in West Indies
After missing the first Test due to an infected fingernail, Gavaskar scored 65 and 67 not out in the second Test in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, hitting the winning runs which gave India its first-ever win over the West Indies.

While Gavaskar and Kapil played the 1979, 1983, and 1987 versions together, and Kapil and Tendulkar would play together in 1992, the trio never took the field together in a World Cup before or after the tournament.
